Since its foundation in 1991, Haus für Poesie has focused on workshop formats to promote young literary talent. In 2015, the existing workshops and formats were combined and have since formed a new focus of Haus für Poesie with Poetry in Education.

Our programs support all age groups — from primary school to adult education — and also include professional development courses for teachers. Whether it is written poetry (haikus, "Elfchen," sonnets, free verse poems, ballads, etc.), slam poetry, spoken word, singer-songwriter formats, body percussion, rap and rhythmic speech, concrete poetry, street art, graffiti and mural arts, sound poetry and language techno, nonsense poetry, jokes, wordplay, letter games, visual poems, performance, stage presence for poetic language, poetry film and animation, advertising language and "claiming," verse illustration, poetic short prose, translation, Instagram tile poems, or fairy tales — all this and more can be found in our open workshops and training modules.

Since 2020, we have also been authorized to issue the Kompetenznachweis Kultur (Cultural Competency Certificate). Additionally, the Haus für Poesie is a recognized training institution and offers school and university-accompanied internships.
