Declan Ryan was born in Mayo, Ireland and lives in London. His first collection, “Crisis Actor” (2023), was published by Faber & Faber in the UK and Farrar Straus and Giroux in the US. His essays and reviews, on books and boxing, have appeared in journals including Granta, The Paris Review, The Guardian, The Baffler and the TLS.
